Hi all,

I recently purchased a Stein Kask helmet to replace my Petzl helmet.

I love the helmet but I have one issue with the ear defenders.
I use the standard Husqvarna ear defenders (as used on my previous helmet)
but I feel that they don't clamp down on my ears/head enough to provide decent ear protection.
Has anyone else had this issue? I will either buy some Stihl Peltor ear defenders, or buy the thicker/wider
Husqvarna style ones. Have any of you guys had this issue?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Jack

Had/have the same issue. I Replaced mine with the chipper spec msa defenders, still not perfect but they are better. Same issue with the CT-X Arbor helmet too.

I loved the KASK but ditched mine because the screw mountings always worked loose, so I put locktite on the screws and then they snapped off. Shame cos it’s a nice hat.

This was brought up with stein on here a while ago when they were promoting a new version of the lid. They absolutely refused to accept that it was a design flaw and passed the buck to user error. Pitiful

Yer I remember that Joe. Not exactly the response you would expect from a manufacturer (or rep) who presumably would like to win customers.
Just as well Petzl didn’t take that attitude with the cracking issues on the ZIgZag.

Same issues here with Hellberg ear defenders and the screws working loose. A design fault they need to fix. I find myself having to whack each ear defender to get it into the close position.
