Days off sick..

After being self employed for the last three years I'm a salary monkey again working in an office. It's shocking how many days off salaried workers take...

In the last 5 years I reckon I've taken one day off sick. I've worked with people that literally take two days off a month like clockwork...

Time to vent off and complain about colleagues that swing the lead!

Workers get a certain amount of sick days without any penalty.

It's considered the norm for people to use all of them.

Yea . There is holiday and there is sick holiday . Then there is sick .

NHS, or any government role for that matter are the worst in my experience.  There is always at least one person in each department who spends more time off sick than actually at work

I’ve found a very different theme among the nurses. On one occasion a nurse was having a miscarriage and stopped till cover was found.  It was felt with that night and back on shift the next day. To frightened to take sick.

I can think of two more incidents like that.
