Hannah Hauxwell 91 dies

I remember the shepherdess Emma Gray talking about her in her book.

I remember her breaking the ice for water, and I remember her saying she slept with the cattle for warmth in the dead of winter..

 

Those two things are the ones that stuck out from watching that program all those years back..  and to be honest, I imagined she must of died many years back, so it was with some surprise I read that she'd only just passed away..

 

Watching the vid last night, stood in the bier with her cattle, "your going to miss your favorite cows aren't you Hannah"? took a moment to answer and then a moments contemplation, holding back a tear.   I had a lump in my throat, and held back a tear of my own..
