My splicing attempts

Ben- Keep practicing, the more you splice the better you will be come! Yea they work great!

 

Liam- Im not sure what you mean by 'how do you form the large eye?' But you splice the eye and before you bury the cover back into the rope, you insert a length of wire rope covered with plastic into the rope and milk it up to where the eye will form, make sure that the length of wire is the same length as the marks that form the eye.

Yea, that's exactly what I mean - thanks for that. Just curious what diameter plastic coated wire this is? Is it forming the new core in the large eye?

Yes creates core in large eye, usually there is no core in the eye if your using samson's 16braid splicing instructions so u can just put the plastic wire in side before you bury, I'd say as long as the wire isn't any thicker than 10mm you should be sweet
