Thanks Gorgeous. Just follow the standard Samson directions. The exposed eyes are ok if you dip them into something. I use Liquidwhip by Starbright I think. I just took the photo of the Blue Beeline before I coated the eyes.

I couldn't find 12 strand brummel instructions on the Samson site, there is a good video on YouTube. Quite stiff though. Thanks for the tip on the dip it whip it.

I used the fids for part of it, had to use a longer metal strip to do the bigger gaps though.

First splice ever, my Dad talked me through it. Yeah the core was a nightmare, got the fid caught a few times. To be honest this was just a test splice, the other end of this 7m rope will have a 50cm eye, just wanted a crab attachment on the other end for a bit more versatility. About the bunching, how do you combat that? I tried to tighten the outer layer as I was doing the final pull but couldn't get it to budge.

Stitch the crossover and keep tension in the eye as you bury it. Couple of snaps doesn't hurt

@Mark Wileman I thought the Selma fids could only do up to 13mm rope?
