12mm tenex mate. Elastic is buried in the tenex. I'd made one previously and it was making the Ice tail I had used bunch up as I'd stitched the elastic into the lock stitching. It worked but I didn't like it. Used a bit of Treemotion rubber to coat the elastic. Not used it in anger but should be fine
