Neck tether

Just wondering if anyone had a neck tether they were no longer using and wanted to sell it? Gustharts are out of stock and honeys want to charge £9 on a £24 item [emoji849]

Why not use your lanyard over your shoulder? Cheaper and less Tay to carry

Do you climb on a tree motion mark?? I took some of the tubing and elastic they give you for gear loops you will never need and took the sheath off some 10mm Prussik cord and put that on the out side.. works a treat.

Been looking at getting something different.  A lot of people seem to like the neck tethers but I can't get over the fact that its surely a disaster waiting to happen?  Whats other peoples thoughts?

i got a used DMM chest harness off ebay, was using a Stihl shoulder strap for combi as neck tether.

With either neck or chest would be good to have something less fiddly to attach or remove. 2 magnets or something

I’ve been using one for a few years now and solely using SRT for work so that’s a lot of hours with no incidents at all , I really don’t like putting a chest harness on and find it restricting and it just does not work with my climbing style I’ve adapted too , if I really had to use a chest ascender I would still fit an XRSE with elastic on in the top run I guess. .. I imagine that is probs what will happen as the health and safety police seem to have condemned them and the pinto retrievable anchor .. both of which I use every climb just because it’s easy minimalist and less hassle.

Isn't it obvious? Im sure its quite unlikely to happy but obviously there is a risk of strangulation.  In any sports you remove necklaces etc, or should....yet people are actively using devices round their necks in situations where theres a good possibility of it getting snagged on something.  Seems an unecessary risk to me personally
