Echo ground saw opinions.

After some feedback on echo ground saws - mainly small to mid range so the 501 /620/ 680

The only echo saw I run is the 2511 which I'm pleased with. On paper a lot of their ground saws are slightly lower in power than the same size saws from stihl / husky. YouTube videos show them a little slower in the cut perhaps but is this outweighed to some degree by lack of electronics etc ??

How well have your echo saws been holding up ??

You hit the nail on the head. No, they're not as quick cutting, but reliability wise they are 100% better than anything else. My verdict on the machines I now run/use

Cs390 - excellent lightweight saw
Cs450 - a bit heavy, underpowered.
Cs501 - good all rounder, poor air filter
Cs620 - excellent mid range felling saw
Cs8002 - heavy, but good machine for medium felling
Cs280tes - disappointing in weight and power. Ok as a back up saw.
Cs360tes - good, steady top handle saw, a bit heavy in the hand balance wise
Cs2511tes - outstanding light pruning saw, especially with ms150 running gear [emoji1360]

Another downside of Echo is the availability of spares, hopefully this is something that's being resolved. These machines start on the first pull, as do all their hedge trimmers, which are lighter and out perform the other machines I run. Although I put performance and reliability over cost, they are all cheaper than Stihl/Husqvarna machines too.

Price wise they seem about the same as the big two now. One thing I have liked about the 2511 it's the oiler. Seems to perform well. I may well give a 620 or 680 a go.
Any one on here running a tuned / ported one yet ?
Not yet but hoping to have my 620 done early 2018. The saw as standard is a cracking machine, as has been said, it's not as fast as the likes of the 560xp but bog it in at full bar length and watch it pull!
