I blanked mine off about 3 years ago Eggs . Did not bother cleaning the EGR as it does not come into play any more . The electronic control is still connected and it may still open and shut but the gasses no longer pass through it coz its blanked off ! :)

What a piece of trickery. Put the blanking plate in earlier and took it for a good thrash. Some smoke to begin with but all cleared after about ten minutes. Didn't notice any difference in performance but I wasn't really expecting any.

I'll see what it's like in the morning from a cold start.

The joys of emission control

I know that is what it is supposed to be but how can allowing exhaust gasses back into the combustion chamber to mix with the next charge and then be expelled through the exhaust together with the exhaust from the just fired charge be any cleaner ?
