Nothing wrong with used if happy to spend a bit of time getting it up to scratch. When I got my first chipper was a little timberwolf 18/100 I paid 2k for. Had it 2 years and never had to spend on it apart from a service and blades. It saved lots of time and fuel. I reckon in fuel costs alone travelling to unload it prob paid for itself in a few months, went from 2-3 trips a day to every day or 2 and then found closer tip sites so saved even more time and fuel.

Sheffield Will, I'm the expensive guy you usually use! :oD

Haha, hey up Chris. Going under a pseudonym then? Sneaky.

Where in the country are you? If on Facebook look for jlr plant and machinery. Adam will soon sort you out and is really helpful. I drove from the north east of Scotland to buy a reconditioned machine from him and it’s worked for me

If you’re thinking about finance, how much is the difference in monthly payments between (example) a TW160 and 230?

Not sure. I've checked a 230 would cost me about £450 a month, which is doable if I'm getting enough of my own work to pay for it. But not at that stage yet.

I think a 160 is only 4k less in price.

I got to the stage where I needed a chipper to get me through all my work before I bought my first.

How long were going chipperless for?
