I'm looking for a back up processor, needs to be PTO driven unless it has its own diesel engine, and was scrolling through ebay looking at various second hand models.

Came across this,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lumag-SSA400Z-PTO-Firewood-Processor-GREAT-PRICE-GREAT-QUALITY/173015394708?hash=item2848856994:g:tnkAAOSwVgtZu7N8

seems incredibly cheap, so I assumed China, but its actually German! Vorsprung Durk Technik then!!

Anyone have any knowledge of them?

Cheers

Steve

Difficult to say where they are made, their website is so vague oaths that one can safely assume made in China and assembled and distributed from their German facility and marketed from their HQ in Italy.

They make a big shout for their Loncin engines, (basically a Chonda)  and again don't give the game away as to where they are built.

£5k might seem cheap (£5k still makes a decent sized wallet bulge a bit) but for what's being offered there there's more tried and tested machines available with a great spares back up service.

Will be Chinese, the other lumag stuff I've looked at is the same as the rest from china, but with a different paintjob.

Another brand is Kellfri, "Swedish" but made in china.

(doesn't mean it's bad, but you usually get what you pay for)

Go for it ! I love chinese stuff , me , my lil 25cc top handle still running after 5 yrs , my Husqvarna  conked in 6 months . My chinese computers are also splendid ;) important bit is it as a cross-split - saves lots of time :) K

If you put a 1000 tonne through it , in its life-time, you would have made yr money off it - a better built machine might put 10,000 tonne through before its worn out , how much work are you expecting ? K

So much from China these days, it's just a case of working out what has been produced for an outside company that still oversees the quality control and what is produced down to a price by a Chinese company.
