What are most secure garage doors?

I'm looking at what design of garage door is most safe for keeping thieves outta my work stuff. 

 

What can anyone recommend? e.g Roller doors, swing doors, panel doors etc.

There was one near Newquay a short while back - good investment by my thinking!

Place not far from here, had a ram-raid a few years back. The truck got stuck but the shutter held. So they reversed through the adjoining brick & block wall. Closed the place for months while they made the building safe and rebuilt the wall and installed anti ram bollards.

Secrecy is the answer.

If scumbags are not aware of something valuable being behind a door they will not bother to try.

As many have said, and once the scum DO know, the type of door just defines the type of damage they will do to break in.

On the assumption you feel that some wrong uns ARE aware then all you can do is decide on a budget then make any attempted break in as slow and difficult as possible.

Bruce Willis and Charles Bronson are not always around to dish out sweet revenge, more's the pity.

Slightly off topic but still relevant, a good friend of mine was hugely enthusiastic about his motorbike, it was his life so to protect it he

built a lean to to keep it dry, installed cctv to keep and eye on it,
He had chain locks through both wheels into the frame.
And Disc lock on both wheels.


And exactly as mentioned above they found a way around it. They simply lifted the wheelz onto scare boards and wheeled it off. And wore balaclava to conceal their faces.

Another case of who the hell would go to that much trouble? Back in the early to mid '70s, a local solicitor had a break-in; their safe got nicked. Now this thing was the size of a Mini. You know, those cars that were mini, not one of those average size car you get these days. Anyway, I digress. The safe was a big and somewhat heavy beastie.

 

Now the building like a great many, was built into a slope and the ground behind was higher. So the swagmen just nicked a mobile crane, smashed through the roof & 1st floor ceiling and winched the thing out. Found it unbreeched in a local quarry days later. Looked like they'd dropped it, drilled it and attempted to blow it.

 

In the end, as said, if they want to get in or think there's something of value inside, then they'll find a way. You can only deter them, delay their progress or disguise/mislead as to the contents.

from whats been said we might as well do nothing coz the buggers will get in any how!

 

what you need to take into consideration is the situation of you building, stuff like, can it be rammed? how close to other buildings? is it over looked? 

yeah the little rays of sunshine are all correct to a point, its an equation, how much effort is the item you are nicking worth against how much effort/risk. make em work for it,slow them down , put in an alarm that alerts your phone.

having seen roll shutters ripped off and up and overs might as well not be there i would go for a set of re-enforced

Well I'll make sure I'm insured anyway, so if they really want the stuff, then like you all say, they get in. But I'd at least like to make somthing that only real pros would bother busting into.
