Contract climbing will definitely make you a better climber I did it for 14 years loved it still do a bit now I have my own trucks and chipper now and are doing more and more of my own work it's definitely set me in good stead contracting for so long climbing wise my skill set has been tested day in day out for years so normal day to day tree work is a nice break and not very challenging the new challenge is the pricing and the customers wanting the moon in a jar on every job I do miss the stress free life of contract climbing sometimes but I wouldn't go back to it full time financially it just wouldn't make sense I made good money as a contract climber what I could charge just Plato's and no matter how good u are or what kit u have u can only ask for so much so enjoy it while your fit and young get your skills to a high level then paddle your own canoe defo won't regret it

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
