Reecoil lanyards

I'm not sure how excited it's possible to be about a chainsaw lanyard but the boys at Reecoil have put together some really well thought out kit. The majority of climbers will have got out on the end of a long skinny branch and reached out to find that the lanyard is already at full extension and still a foot or so short. Having had a good go with the "Full reach" and "Big boss" Reecoil seem to have solved this and included some nice touches along the way. The full reach has a couple of attachment points for carabiners depending on where you want to attach your saw. It seems to sit nicely tied to the top handle and keeps the bar clear of your feet and lower legs. The Big Boss is the bigger version for larger saws and happily takes a 660. Not used anything bigger with it yet but can't see it struggling. Won't be for everyone at the price and there are cheaper products out there but I'm certainly not disappointed.

I looked at these a while back....do you not find it too long?

Have one and for big jobs awesome but small jobs terrible as u can’t just cut little branches let it hang and carry on but nice and short when coiled however does seem to catch every branch cos it coiled as you climb up

It's a great lanyard, just don't get into the habit of dropping your saw.

Nope. They're designed to be clipped up. Would be absolutely horrific if you had your saw hanging below you as you climb around. As Rich says, you'd only let it hang down below you once!

Recently got one,really like it.

I clip my saw on my harness when not in use,i dont like it swinging around.

I bought one and use it solely on my Echo CS 2511 TES.  I think it's just too long at full or part extension even for a gibbon with overly long arms. As stated above you need to be careful not to drop the saw if you are not to high off the ground as you could stab a groundie in the head with the chain and bar or poke the saw thru that greenhouse glass roof you've been trying hard to avoid.   I'm not really sure whether i like it or not but if there was a shorter one available i may find that variant less likely to coil up awkwardly.

Seems to me they made it excessively long.  Surely it only needed to be another foot longer than the standards

If it's too long can you just tie a few knots in it?
