Several engine upgrades occurred as Ford revised their engine models and the skid unit

 

Serial Numbers Information

 

 

County serial numbers were allocated in sequence of production, so do not relate to models, but a prefix was used to indicate the Skid unit/engine variations.

 

8FC & 6FC from 1967-Nov 75 - Ford 5000 skid

26FC from Nov 75-Dec 77 - Ford 6600 skid

Preservation

 

 

 

Wrecked, eventually scrapped

One special examples is the Ex NIAE tyre test rig which was with a collector in Hampshire, till May 2009 when it was put up for sale

Yes and it caused a lot of rare habitats to be disturbed as  investment companies  looked for places to apply the income tax relief that paid for afforestation.

 

Looking at it I'd suspect it was a machine developed by the FC workshops in the late 60s and 70s

 

I bet Doug Clark would know something about it as his firm built a lot of ploughs during this period.
