work gloves

i am fed up with cold sore hands and crapy wet rubber gloves. Is there any light weight gloves out there that are warm, waterproof and you can open and shut carabiners with them and not get them wrapped around your friction hitch. thanks:001_smile:

The Irwin gloves are the absolute DB's. Last a couple of months, very flexable, very snug fit, Neoprene / pigskin construction, double layered in high wear areas.

Seriously Stevie, try a marine supplies store, i got some sailing gloves and they were good, thumb and forefinger were tipless so you can do crabs with them and there water proof and quite warm, lasted well too, about 25 quid ago though.

When i went on holiday to Gairloch, i found a great little shop that sold arran wool open mittens. I have used them a few times in the cold. They are really warm even though your finger tips are exposed.

mine were like those of Ed's but fingerless on the thumb and forefinger, bloody good.

thanks everyone, edd they look really good, and if sailors wear the gill ones then they must be good. i had a pair from a chandley but they soon soaked up water and you had to rely on your hands being warm to keep them warm, and then putting them on wet to wait for them to heat up wasnt cool. cheers guys
