The MK3, 4 and 5 are all tanks. They all suffer from rust though and you will rarely find one in the UK in good condition. Expect to spend more money and time fighting rust with yearly maintenance, but I like looking after mine. They are so simply built, strong and reliable. I can tell you though, undoing bolts and replacing parts is a total nightmare because of rusted bolts and nuts. I have a lower ball joint to replace on mine and it's a damn nasty job! Worth checking out the HPOC forums for more advice about hilux's.

Aye been on hpoc for years, this is my 5th hilux! Went to see a lot of dogs before found this one. It's totally mint rust wise which is why I pulled his arm off for it......hpoc is great full of really helpful guys. Seen many mk4 s and 5s in a lot worse shape. Shame they rust bad!

It's be getting the waxoyl and rust killer underneath soon As I get it

Hi mate have you had an MOT yet, just wondering on where the law sits on the front bumper missing the plastic bit beneath the metal part and the whole hitting someone and "sucking them in".

Not asking to be a jobsworth, I'm planning on doing the same to my ranger and will have to cut away some of the body work to expose my underneath at the front.
