Defender woes

If its running on the pink/orange stuff which it should be, dont mix with the blue as its lower spec and can block the radiator

I have a 10 plate 110, only 20k on the clock. If I drive at or over 50k for more than 40 mins the coolant spurts out the overflow, the temp gauge shoots up and it goes into a limp mode. After 2 mins temp gauge goes back down again.

Been into 2 different land rover garages that can't find anything wrong.

Does anyone have any ideas or help

Can be a hose that has partially collapsed through a kink. Had the same sort of problem on my Kubota 2400. Not at 50kph though.

My turn today TD5 head cracked again, sump full of diesel. Had the head welded 50k ago always towing laden ifor so cant really complain.

Change the thermostat,sounds like a restriction.

Picked up an AMC head today locally, so just to get gaskets bolts etc and job will be a good one, better than a L/R head

I almost went that route but had it welded , as you know.
