Artificial grass:can it be repaired?

Even this companies most expensive fake grass at £23.99 per square metre would be less than £770. They have different grades down to about a fiver a square metre, or less than £200. Was it a swanky posh one, or a cheaper one?

phone every company you can find, let them know your phoning around. get the best price you can, each five minute phone call could save you £50. If the owner agrees to go with your best offer throw in a little extra like a couple of free cuts, something which won't cost you much but save the customer a lot, if they're happy then you retain their custom, if not, you don't want their custom. Win win situation:thumbup:

Put my topper down on this surface last week, burnt 4 golf ball size holes in it,I took no payment for the job, customer now says he needs a whole 8mx4m section relaying, £1500,trying to pull my pants down I think,I can put it through PLI but surely it can be repaired? All burns within a square metre, anyone any experience of this? Thanks guys

Really gutted for you and I definitely feel your pain. We did exactly the same thing last year but with hedge cutters. Ended up putting it on the insurance. I think ours was a fair bit more than that too. Lazy lawn if I remember right. They insisted in.a complete re-lay

Moral of the story?

Never trust a man with plastic grass!

Or the people that install it. The company that supplied it wouldn't let us install it ourselves, they insisted on using their own people even though our landscaping crew have done loads of them. [emoji107]

It can be cut out and replaced with a new piece.

Agreed, our local artificial football pitch had a flare thrown onto it last year, the crispy bit was cut out and a spare off cut from when it was first laid was fitted in, and as they say jobs a good un.

From watching judge Rinder yesterday about a guy who was pissed and flaked out on his mates sofa and then it the night pissed on it and wouldn't pay for its replacement he said that the minimum cost should be sought to rectify the damage so in this case she sofa owners initially tried washing it but is still smelt so they spoke to an upholstery cleaner who said they wouldn't be able to clean it properly as the urine had soaked the wooden frame inside so then the. New owners then went and bought a replacement.

If the sofa could have been cleaned then that would have been the reasonable thing to do to do to rectify the damage, as this wasn't the case it was reasonable to purchase a new sofa.

If the damage in the lawn can be invisibly repaired and this is the cheapest option then this is the first avenue that needs investigating. I'd write to them stating how you will go about rectifying the repair and then if they don't like it and want to take you to court for a whole. Ew lawn they may be looked on unfavourably as the lawn could be repaired for a much lower cost.

Hi,

Were an artificial grass installer, you are correct in that it can be patched, howver the ptach always notices as the old grass is squashed / bent/ flattended so a patch looks crap.....now as someone who buggers up your own lawn you might live with that for a quick cheap repair, but if someone else buggers up your grass i guess the " why should i live with a shitty repair in my lawn when its not my fault" mentality kicks in

Plus to ptach you need to match supplier and style of grass

It's just something to be aware of, no need to turn down work. Just don't put your hot saws on it and price accordingly

With some kind of disclaimer too....

The problem here I think is that the plastic turf companies insist on a complete relay in the event of damage occurring. One careless misplacement of a saw/ hedge cutter or fuel spillage can easily result in a bill for a few thousand£££.

I'll certainly be wary in future.
