Sorry to jump on-board here but I have an 088 I use for Milling. Could not find much on the Net but if I could get some extra power outta the saw with minimal work Id love to give it a go. I keep seeing people referring to drilling into the Muffler. Is there any specific place? Also, what other Mods is there for the 088?

Cheers.

yes your be the man to ask directly have you done any porting / performance work on 661 and secondly is the auto tune issue when having this work done

No porting experience on the 661 to date and can't be sure what is on the table until the piston and cylinder are off. Muffler mods are usually quite effective with autotune models but expect more noise.

The autotune is very effective at accommodating tuning mods as well as any air leaks and often protects the engine from failure. The auto tune has set max and min settings for the H&L settings and as long as the engine is sound then it will just reset itself to the required settings if the engine is modified in anyway - that is the experience so far.

I have seen 540Ts with impulse lines off and the autotune has kept the saw running albeit with a dodgy idle - importantly though, no piston damage!
