rear forks are made to go on the rear of tractors, but as said, never seen a purpose built one.

I've seen this before and if I remember correctly is was built for moving pallets of turf on and around football stadiums, hence the dimensions which would allow it access via the players tunnel........

You maybe right but Standen machinery mainly built stuff for veg and sugar beet growers.
