I absolutely hate wearing saw trousers, try lugging a 100 metres of 13mm cable and four chocker chains up a steep hillside through brash, stumps, roots etc for five minutes of felling and it is easy to see why I loathe them. Can't wait to get the bastards off at the end of the day, it was much easier in the 1980's moving around in jeans before someone in a office made it law to wear them, but they have their place.

Agree on all of the above Chris, but you left out the fact that no one can categorically state that even a brand new pair will stop a saw in the first place either.

Agreed mark, although I did catch a lump of bailer twine the other day and it stopped the 501sx pretty effectively but if it had been my trousers I'm sure I'd have been the one legged pirate tree surgeon of South Yorkshire before it took effect. I have zero faith in saw trousers and less in boots.
