hitch climber v lockjack

Hitchclimber after many, many years of prussik, blakes etc.

Love the thing.The muscle my upper right arm used to swell up/hurt like hell after a long days climbing on a prussik, but since spending a few quid on a H/C it's totally lengthened my climbing time, don't even feel the old muscle pain now.:thumbup1:

Still not had a go with a lockjack, had a bit of a nosey at the last Arb show i went to, but the price did put me off to be honest.Seems a lot to pay if you find you don't get on with it.

i have been on vt forabout 9 months now(dont climb much tbh) it is nice to have it for branch walking but just fing it a bit of a pain, went back to a prusik yesterday, it was like going home for christmas, i loved it, i could just relax and climb, i used it for 11 years so i know whee i am with it, theni had a wee go of a lock jack, now thats more like it but i did work with someone with a spiderjack and that looks even better, now i know what i want for chrinmbo

There are so many better hitches that you can use instead of your prussic Stevie, just use the same bit of cord and the same technique but way nicer to use, we have this on our short ropes. Hitchclimber's only for big trees.

 

BTW I was joking about Mon Tues, but if you fancy it let me know. I'll show you some better knots.:001_smile:
