VAT on postage

This really bugs me when I buy a smallish item, then they add the fiver postage or whatever (which is all fair enough), but then clag the VAT charge onto the whole total.

 

You're just collecting money for the VAT man which nobody gets back, you bastards!

:confused1: If they don't collect it off you they will have to pay it out of their profits, which would presumably lead to higher prices.

If you enter the full cost of the item, what it cost you to get including post, you'd get it back. Don't know if it would wash, but that is what you've spent.

 

If you drove to pick it up, you'd claim the vat you'd paid at the pump after all:confused1:
