if it's only recently split then it is unlikely to be dry.

robinia is a fantastic firewood timber and it burns very hot but like all timber it needs to be nice and dry for it to burn well.

as you've just split it i'd leave it for another year or two and then use it.

Brilliant firewood. The Yanks call it black locust and love it!

One of the best Imo, does need to be dry, prob won't be dry especially if it's a reasonable dia, i think the calorific value is better than oak, dries well once split, very dense wood, one of the lads asked what tree these yellow logs were from, i told him banana trees, can you not tell by the colour ! priceless

Acacia burns hot and long. Needs to be well seasoned and split small unless you have a huge burner/fire. Also usually needs a fair bit of grunt in the fire to get it going.

Robinia pseudoacacia, native of North America where is commonly known as black locust or simply 'primo firewood'. I read over the it is rot resistant and makes great fence posts. However the 2m౩ of it that i picked up the other day from, a dead standing tree, had the middle rotted out and is dry as a bone. Hope it splits ok dry. I'm looking forward to chucking it in the stove next winter
