Buy my transit. It's an ideal starter vehicle. It's on Arb trader. I'm open to offers

I will mull it over Tom. The chipper you have on there looks great too. Where abouts are you based?

On another topic I need to get an accountant as soon as possible for advice on my initial outlay. Can anyone recommend one in the Beds Herts area? Thanks for the help.

have a look at a iveco daily. They are proper trucks with a ladder chassis.

Haven't seen many for sale where I have been looking but will keep an eye out.

Hi all,

I have recently got a job as a tree officer on a part time basis 20 hrs a week. So I feel this is the perfect time for me to go self employed. I have been climbing for 5 years.. ...

I basically want to pick all your brains .....

Don't bother with a truck and chipper, just go freelance as a climber.. Your truck and chipper are going to be sat doing nothing for half the week, you will (should) need to find a rescue climber who can also work part time.. I reckon a half decent freelance climber will take home more cash with loads less bother then trying to run their own show part time.

I've done freelance climbing and it hasn't always been straight forward or the best experience.

I'm set on giving it a go on my own. I have about 5 good mates who will all ground work and rescue climb when needed at weekends which should see me through to start off with.

Out of interest is this advice you would have given yourself when you started out.
