Guess the wieght

1m3 of freshly cut ash logs. Carefully measured out into an IBC with the tank being cut down to exactly the 1000 litre mark, so a perfect cube of logs.

 

No prizes I am afraid :001_smile:

 

It would be interesting to see the actual volume taken up by the logs when neatly stacked - i'd guess around .7m3 and see the spread of guesses!

 

Go on, its a Friday afternoon, won't take you long :)

OK I have done a cube of beech but it was awkward twisted hedgerow trees so not neat logs like the ash (unlike the few nice ones on the top). probably 1/4 un split branch material and the rings were a pain and made a fair bit of kindling. Suspect these things will make it lighter than if I had perfect wood like the ash was.

 

So lets play again
