I have my eyes on a used husky xp3120 . I would have occassional need to cut trunks of 20-30" into rings . But would this saw be too heavy in weight for ringing 18 -24" stuff with a 25" bar. Is the idea mad I normally use a stihl 039 with 20" bar but sometimes find it a bit underpowered just wondering if i am going to the other extreme.

Thanks for replies so far. You are confirming what i suspected. I was drawn to a nice low hour 3120 for £350 + vat but common sense may need to prevail. I did buy a mint 039 made in 2000 for £160 while I was there which i think will take the strain off my 20 year old 038.

Anymore views really appreciated.

It would be expensive as they drink fuel ...and heavy!,have found bigger saws not to reliable considering there work load which is not as high as some of the mid range saws used in companys and found the larger saws ie 88 and 3120 like to go bang far before the mids if put side by side in a working life!
