I don't know Jake.

I've strapped a few trees up in high winds and come back to them later, I'm pretty sure they would have shat themselves without the straps.

They looked like the elephant man, like.

Proper ratchet straps, not Halfords luggage ones.

I disagree Mark!

I wouldn't have climbed this tree without this piece of PPE.

I wouldn't have climbed it and booked a lift like you.

Why save a client money for the sake of your safety. If every climber thought the same then you would never have to worry about someone else getting the job.

Like someone has said it's the owners who have left it in that state for so long otherwise it could have been dealt with sooner and cheaper.

Just my view and each to their own.

Sometimes you cannot get a lift to certain "dangerous" trees and so climbing is the only option. When you do this enough times you become experienced in knowing your own limits and the trees to a certain degree. Just because you wouldn't have done it without a lift doesn't mean it's dangerous for someone else too. It's about experiance and ability, and not necessarily about trying to win a job for cheaper.

All good stuff but why do people use the word "comfortable" all the time.

It's not a word that ever comes to mind when I'm up there.

Couldn't agree more when I hear i don't feel comfortable about being in a tree it is a job that u shouldn't feel comfortable if u want to feel comfortable work in a office

I find myself quite the opposite its when I feel calm and relaxed more so unless I'm up a leaning 40m+ pine in strong winds then I feel a bit twitchy
