Thinking of getting a TW160, been to Timberwolf today and had a demo. Handles the 6" logs ok. Also demo'd a new TW230 (Great machine but probably a bit big for our needs at the moment) and a 6 year old TW150.

Only concern there is not a lot of info for the TW160 out there at the moment from the guys that use it.

Few of the questions I have, does it throw the chip far enough, what is it like with wet conifer, does the engine get dirty with no bonnet.

TW160 comes with 2 Year warranty, a spare set of blades plus affordable payments.

Note:- There is no a great difference in price from a new TW160 and a 6 year old TW150.

I can only see it being better than the 125, which has no grumbles with any of your concerns above, apart from maybe super-wet conny, but even that's ok if you feed it sensibly.

I've been contacted today by TW France as I expressed interest in the 160.

Pie Eater Pete has been pressuring me to go Wolf.

Apart from the lack of a brake, I see no obvious reason why I should dislike it before I demo it.

They've been making that same chipper for 20+ years now! All they've done is remove the bonnet so the road debris gets in the engine, taken away the spare wheel changed thr wheel guards and roller box cover to plastic over metal and painted it orange. This one's a 1997 and 25hp engine. Seems the 'all new' version is a worse machine than they used to make!?

I'd imagine it's a decent enough machine but doubt it'll last as long

No I was tempted before they launched it but was a bit uninspired looking at it. I use the older one now and then and it's solid. Can't see why they don't put a bonnet on them anymore
