For the benefit of those of us who don't watch Dragons' Den, do I take it that someone has submitted a wood-burning stove to the show? Is it of a revolutionary design? Can we see a link?

BBC iPlayer - Dragons' Den - Series 14: Episode 15

Bit of a non starter at £500 as you could buy a lot of wood for that or even a whole stove.

Grenadier firelighter is similar for £125 and more versatile.

Thought that was what the other half was for

The only thing she could light was the match. Many a time I came home to an unlit fire and an empty box of fire lighters. And yes, I did show her how to do it[emoji849]

Obviously I've taught my wife well then, she has no problems getting the stove lit!

Not seen dragon's den but £500?! For me that sounds like a "FFS" moment but I guess there will be people who'd be willing to pay the money to have the stove already lit when they get in through the door.

yes it does light the stove ,BUT somebody needs to empty the ash ,fetch kindling and logs ,set the fire and control the draft.

all this does is to save striking a match and lighting the fire.not a mega time and efffort saver really.

And presumably being mains powered, it has a high-temperature resistant flex and needs an electrical socket next to the fireplace.

I'll stick to junkmail and sticks..........
