I clip the 2511 trigger handle on my left/rear large caritool. I try not to leave it running but even if it is it will only get hot on my arse after a minute

Sounds like it would be fairly easy to accidentally operate the trigger like that...

I know its bad practice but i put the 150 side handle onto a gateless caritool, dunno if its the small or medium caritool but its defo not the large

I used to do that until I elbowed the nose of the bar a few times.

Yeah ive done that more than a couple of times,i just dont like it dangling on my harness unless its at the full length of the strop...which is also a pita to pull up to cut all the time.

Why not?

Dont like the saw hanging on the strop ring cause the chain catch's on my cutting trousers(ive only got little legs)so its bounces off the backs of my knees.Dont like it dangling at full strop length cause im constantly pulling it up and down to cut and its difficult moving around tighter canopies without the fecker gettin caught in unions or summit.

Just a wee pet peeve of mine

I've started using a triangular maillon rapide to attach my strop to my 201 and 160. Easier to swap between saws and works well for attaching to caritool.

i use a homemade clip similar to this either clipped to the harness or my 2" army belt, if a dont want to use the tool lanyard.

if I'm wearing jeans doing ground work i have an old style husky tool clip the only problem with the husky clip is its a small belt opening so no good for the 2' belt

As has been mentioned, I have a caribiner on the ring of my 201, it clips it up high enough to be out of my way if the orientation of the crab is a problem how about using a beal pinch rubber to keep it in the correct position?
