I'm a great believer in recycling, enough goes into landfill as it is. Also around here everybody sells logs so if you are not competitive on the price, you won't shift much...

disagree on selling I have 3 competitors within 20 miles all doing 4m3 around £250 and I can still sell my 1m3 bags at £120, quality is more important to many over price, our region is also swamped with people selling logs but part timers mostly don't do the work to get a quality product

One thing worth looking at is the level of deformation in secondhand ones , in my experience they can be a bit of false economy when they get to a certain point .

Nice new rigid sided bags hold exactly their designed volume , stretched baggy old bags wont be long taking 5 or 10 Quids extra worth of timber on you .....

Yes, you are quite right- I'm ordering some new, as per the ebay link earlier in the thread.

3 competitors within 20 miles...?Try multiplying that by at least 10 and you might be getting close to what there is locally to me. The (Kent) Wealden free magazine has about 20 log adverts weekly, alone. That's without random farmers, smallholders and woodland owners etc., new signs every other day at the roadside. Competiton is seriously strong

Don't sell logs then! A race to the bottom is a mug's game...
