which was real leather , they also make one from artificial leather.

The black Scabbard is not leather ( 80 % sure ) the tan coloured one is.

I got my last one from Honey Brothers. It had a secateur pouch on too which personally I find invaluable . Not sure whether they still do them as it was a few years ago.

The black one is like a rigid artificial belt material .

I’ve had a number of both the leather and artificial ones and they both seem to wear at a similar rate to be honest .

Get it secured to your leg with a Sawpod....It will completely change the way you use the saw.Most efficient and speedy as well as safe way of handling it....Game changer!

 I dont understand any of this post.

 

Its just a different way of storing your hand saw. How it changes the way you use it is beyond me, as is how it makes it safer. 

 

Personally I found it a pain having to strap it to your leg each climb, and it could rotate round the back of your leg and the handle would dig into the back of your knee.

I hear you Joe...i hung mine for years..the moment i strapped it to my leg i never had to locate it...quick draw everytime.The amount of timez i've seen people fishing for it time after time...having to steady the scabbarb..cutting or grazing their hands...Seen it happen numerous times....

Using a finer cutting blade on my silky today.

They do an even finer one which is great on really small prunes...lot more work though
