I've been using one for about twenty years now , and it never ceases too amaze me. And sometimes the customer too after they feel the almost sanded smooth cut finish.

What a fantastic tool it is.

 

Totally agree,ive never been let down by a silky,only been kissed once thankfully.Ive taken down 6 inch co doms with my zubat,amazing tools.

Also theyre great for building up great forearms...bonus

Yet they are still outsold by bowsaws.

My bow saw was £3.95 with a spare blade. Still on the first blade. I'd still like a Silky type saw but not £60 worth for what I'd use one the couple of times a year I prune anything.

I cut about 40 stems on a London Plane head high over a parade of shops and flipped each one so it was all neatly stacked ready to chip whilst the climber in the tree next to me was creating a huge hanging birds nest....cutting and manipulating branches with a hand saw is an art.
