I have BE, I also have C, all three passed separate and post '97.

Dont shoot the messenger but its only 750kg.

You would need to either take C1E to be allowed a GTW of 12000kg & the trailer actually cant weigh more than the vehicle using real weights. (I think min arctics are exempt but its not my area so would need to check)

 

OR

 

Take CE & then technically its unlimited GTW for your licence but there are some C&U limits that apply that reduce it. Plus the trailer can weigh more than the vehicle.

Thought that.

Bit ridiculous really seeing as I'm licenced to tow 3.5t, and licensed to drive a 32t vehicle, but I can't tow my 1t car behind my 7.5t motorhome!

Rep some rules just dont add up.

 

If its just for the motorhome then do C1E

You should have done:-

 

B then C then CE.

 

Would only have been a little more cost.

Had you been pre 97 car test then you could tow a real 3250kg behind the real 5000kg MH.

Which is why the law was changed to stop exactly that situation of people being legal but no training to do it.

 

 

 

 

 

If you think BE is costly dont expand & need C1 C1E C or CE you will **** your pants.

 

 

 

Its the same test just in bigger vehicles.

Roughly half of all my customers are towing illegally already.

 

ALL of them would have failed the test without taking training.

 

So far I have not had a single customer ready for the test when they came to me.

 

So what's the biggest thing they would fail on ?
