Annoys me that when the computer system changed the licenses again in '97 that they automatically slapped the 107 restriction on our 7.5T rights.

Regards,

Steve.

At the time you did have the chance to claim the full 12000kg.

You cant. You missed the boat of keeping it years ago.

My understanding is that you already dont have that allowance even though it is on your licence.

If you have the time use the view a licence check system (you will also need you NI number) to see what it says & let me know please.

I did that twice. Sent the copies along with my letter of complaint. They just ignored it and rattled out the same tune.

Were they going to be good enough to tell me at some point?

I'd like to see them explain that one in court.

I won't be using the licence check either, I'm fukked if I'm doing their dirty work for them and flagging myself up on their system.

The licence check wont flag anything.

It just allows you to look at what points, full & provisional vehicles you are allowed to drive.

Ignorance of the law is no defence.

Its up to you to keep current re laws.

Its been in force for over 20 years.

But like I said I do not yet know for sure if a holder of a paper licence still has the 12000kg allowance or not. I was hoping to find out if you checked.

They did run TV & media adverts re this. Plus all registered haulage companies employing drivers were notified so they could get any drivers to claim the allowance.

I was answering your question. My old paper license on the license checker stared I could drive up to 12000kg.

It was nice of them to inform me 20 years ago.

Just checked mine, shows all my entailments as per my paper licence.

When does the plastic photo licence become mandatory?

That's what I was getting at Dave. When I checked my paper license it said upto 12000kg.

Then 3 days late the site said I had a 750kg trailer for a 7500kg vehicle.

That is good to know.

It does not.

Only if you move change name etc etc.
