I stack them as you get more in and they dry better win win. Yes it takes a bit longer to fill a bay but when it comes to loading up the truck it's lot quicker grabbing a bundle of neatly stacked logs.

How do you move it about?

Better to use gas then surely :biggrin:

 

1, I live in a wood, we have no main gas, elec or water.

 

2, We were talking about deliveries. Why spend time stacking? No one will pay you extra to neat stack.

 

Do you neat fill your bags or trailers?

I would dispute that.

 

Less air gaps = less air flow. More contact patches etc etc.

 

Re getting more in its only about a 1 to 1.2 factor.

That's worth an experiment but I have no space for it. From picking logs from a jumbled heap I would have said they do not dry as well as a stack because a stack sheds rain better.

Okay, then as the man says, more air space in a random jumble so if the air paths are better and the height to footprint area the same why wouldn't they dry faster? As I said worthy of an experiment.
