what mini loader

We are planning on taking these in to the UK. What are peoples thoughts on this? We still need to CE Mark them but that won't take us too long. Is it something people would use?

Yes Hi there,

 

We use to know a guy 20 years ago who sold the Thomas mini tracked loader, When Thomas stopped trading the same guy had a go at selling the yellow boxer loader, at the time boxer were building a radio controlled loader & we had this on test using it along the south coast , we were working on clearing gravel & sand out of 6ft dia storm drains emptying onto the beach, high tide was washing the beach back up the pipe. the radio controlled machine worked well for this application as long as you had clear sight of the loader, we had also used it in a tunnel cleaning contract clearing the tunnel after small collapse's, it kept the operator away from the danger zone. The Thomas and the boxer were never any good as a loader & been stood on the back of the machine to drive it is very dangerous as it will throw you if your not very careful, After our experience using Thomas & boxer in specialist applications. We looked 10 years ago at importing the " Ram-Rod " machine from the USA but the more we looked the more we asked ourselves if it would work, we decided not to import the Ram-Rod & it was the best decision we have ever made, Its a very neice market & there is a lot of competition with manufacturers all grabbing at compact loader market, My advice would be to leave well alone, put your effort to something else enless you have won the lottery or you don't need a quick return on your money of time.

The obvious competition would be Vermeer who seem to do ok in the UK.

 

I looked at one of these a few years back but there was a long waiting list, there had been a fire at the factory or something and supply had stalled.

 

I feel that wheeled loaders are more suited to our work but many differ.

 

Pounds weak against the dollar comparatively ATM. But I'm sure you know that.

Thanks for the input guys. Yes the pound to the dollar is in a pretty crappy place but the 320 Boxer is still coming in about £16,000 to the UK. How does this price compare to competitors? Also the old Boxer company has a design for an wheeled artic loader so I'm hoping they also bring that back.

I assume the big 950hd comes in around £30-32k for the base unit?

Yes, you are bang on the money. We'd be hoping for 32k by the time we get it here and put it through the CE

That would seem to be in line with the alternatives (larger vermeer or ditchwitch). You are also into the mid wheel loaders territory - multione 7+ etc.

That's good to know. I'm hoping we can be competitive. We are willing to give deals for the first few to encourage the start of sales.
