Er I don't think many of the people in this thread have skanky old work trucks! Have you ever thought some people might not want a car as well?! Thats the whole point of these new crewcab type navara/hilux/l200 things.

Well your wife/kids must be slightly different to mine because mine wouldn't appreciate being driven around in a prehistoric Landrover. You obviously must spend considerable time cleaning the inside of it though, because I for one wouldn't want to come home from work, get all cleaned up and then hop in a truck with mud and sawdust all over the place. And the point of crewcabs is to transport your 'crew', i.e. staff - not your wife and kids!!

you may have a point with your wife and kids and your work vehicle but I shall not comment as I don;t know what kind of work you do.

I work out of two vehicles and they are both kept clean and tidy - I can't stand messy vehicles I clean mine once a week. everyone I know is happy to accept a lift in a prehistoric Land Rover. But I accept that up here in middle England we all must have some very odd ideas as there are numouros lads running tree companys that have a crew cab to carry their climbing kit to and from work and then the family at other times.

When you've been working in the rain you're going to have muddy boots, sawdust stuck all over you, wet dirty hands, so it's pretty impossible not to get the inside of your truck filthy dirty! In my opinion you cannot have a dual purpose vehicle in this type of work, it's always going to be a work vehicle. I'll stick to my X5 for shipping the wife and kids around in!

I bet you can't jet wash the inside of the X5

Well that's the point - there's never the need to, because I don't use it for work.

The wife has her car, which I borrow every now and again to go shooting or take the dogs out, wish I could jet wash that, you want to see the state of it when I give her back, she goes bent.

The X5 only really gets used when we all go out together, I use my truck if I'm going to be making a mess. Luckily for me my wife is a lawyer so can afford her own car aswell!
