@Johnsond and @GarethM - neither of you are presenting your case coherently at present. Both of you are falling into the trap of personally insulting those that you are disagreeing with in addition to continual 'what-aboutery'.

If you want to make a case for how you feel that Trump's actions over the weekend are a positive thing, why not make that argument? It would be far more persuasive than simply saying "classic 'insert lefty Arbtalk member's name here' left nonsense", or saying 'what about when Keir did this and Blair did that etc etc.

I'm genuinely interested to hear an ambitiously persuasive argument rather than recycled Maga talking points :)

Right back at you & Steven P.

Rubbish J

I’ve not had a huge amount of input recently into the Trump fest on here.
Reality is I’ve no case to put as such, you hate the UK you hate Trump and you hate the Tories, there is nothing to be gained from to and fro on it. As for comments about SP and SP alone the  anonymous mystery man of Arbtalk 🤷‍♂️, J he couldn’t lie straight in bed, or give a straight answer if his life depended on it. His views align with yours hence here you are.
My points about the armed forces and the war monger Blair have been made many times as have the ones about Starmer defending terrorists.
point out to me where I have used MAGA talking points !!

Regards Starmer

Thats what boots on the ground looks like J, you may take the moral high ground in regards the actions ongoing to cease conflict in Ukraine but in reality the sooner it’s done the better. Ukrainian people like the Finns may always be rightfully pissed off but the betrayal started years ago as well you know. Question J, I’ve asked it often to a few here, have you ever served in the armed forces or been under fire ??. It seems to me the ones who have never experienced either here and politicians are the ones taking the uncompromising line, the war in Ukraine is just an excuse for you and others to go on an anti Trump frenzy, fyi I think he acted like a prick the other night worse still was Vance 🤷‍♂️

Cough cough, far right and two tier Kier.

No, the distinction was quite clear.

If you're on the clock, no protesting for you.

Lunch time, you're time and out of any uniform, fill yer boots, but waltzing around campus shouting about Palestine is POINTLESS, no actually the step beyond pointless, infantile.

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution protects the freedom of speech, press, religion, assembly, and petition. It was ratified in 1791 and is part of the Bill of Rights.

Freedom of speech
  • The government cannot restrict a person's ability to express their opinions or ideas

  • The government cannot retaliate against someone based on what they say

  • The freedom of speech includes the right to discuss publicly and truthfully all matters of public concern

Freedom of the press
  • The government cannot restrict mass communication

  • A free media functions as a watchdog that can investigate and report on government wrongdoing

Freedom of religion

  • The government cannot establish a national religion
  • The government cannot impede the free exercise of religion
Freedom of assembly

  • The government cannot interfere with the right to peaceably assemble
Freedom of petition

  • The government cannot prohibit citizens from petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances
The Supreme Court interprets the extent of the protection afforded to these rights.

Have you rested your case yet, or are we to await the inevitable edit? Thus far you've just missed the point again.

I'm curious to see a considered, coherent argument that honestly justifies the position that Mr Trump is a force for good in the world. You obviously feel strongly about the man, what gives you such confidence in his abilities? I think most people had doubts about him, (and what the US has become under his short leadership so far), if only in secret. After the events of recent days though that number must have swelled even further. I'm genuinely surprised and dismayed that he still has such strong support in some isolated quarters. How on earth can it be acceptable for the US to align itself more closely with Russia and in doing so distance itself from the West? I don't understand how that does not alarm you more than whatever Starmer is up to?

A lot of the usual incorrect foolish assumptions bordering on lies and the usual boring pretentious “ you get didn’t get the point remark”. Or indeed the inevitable laughable comment regarding when I use the edit facility compared to the silence when a team mate does 🤷‍♂️😂
I’ll not get overly alarmed at something I have no control or influence over. At least not to the point of the hysteria a handful of you have exhibited on here, what is it I’m often told “ other than posting on an arb forum what are you actually doing about it” ?? . Regarding alignment with Russia !! What do you think has financed the Russian war machine for years ?? You do realise the conflict has been going on for a while longer than 3 years !!, look closer to your beloved EU for some answers in particular Germany, I’m pretty sure the orange one warned the EU years ago over lack of NATO contributions and dependence on Russian energy, strangely you geopolitical strategists were silent then. He made no bones about the fact it was gonna be America first, the US voters put him in, you may not agree but as the saying goes” dry  your eyes 42”. if anything it’s a wake up call for European nations , let’s not worry about bollocks and step up to the mark. Look at Poland for example have they have it right in many ways on a lot of matters from immigration to defence.

If the war ends do you see that as a good thing ? or is it bad because Trump is involved.
Or do you want them just to keep fighting indefinitely, you could always **************** off over and join the rest of the foreign lads in the trenches over there if you feel so strongly about it.

If the war ends, (without future repercussions), then yes, it is obviously a good thing. Regardless of whether Trump is involved or not.

Sometimes it's better to say nothing, rather than keep digging. You've fallen into that trap again. Insults and rancour don't make for a persuasive argument round here.

So, do you genuinely believe that the man in question here is a force for good in the world? You're allowed to change your mind from a previous stance btw. As Zelensky is being forced to do; it takes huge balls to swallow your pride like that, after what he was subjected to on Friday. Trump and his attack dog Vance are but spineless pups in comparison.

And no, before you ask, I have no military service record. Are these acceptable credentials in lieu of that though?

As you have yet again with the usual level of assumptions, sly digs and arrogant hypocrisy you often display on here. You don’t get it do you 42 it doesn’t matter what I think or you for that matter, as you guys keep saying on another thread “ it’s an arb forum” did you choose to ignore what I said earlier along with all the other facts as to why Ukraine is where it is now, unlike you in 2014 I actually listened to the arguments from both sides ( pro Russian Ukrainian and Ukrainian nationalists) crew on the vessel I was on. Trump and Vance behaved like pricks 🤷‍♂️what part of that didn’t you understand.

“ without future repercussions “ your arrogance is breathtaking 42

Forgot to say did you split that kindling with a blindfold on.

These rights are conditional, just like the UK.

Try marching onto a military base and attempting to exercise you right to assemble, protest and speak freely.Likewise you cannot walking into someones home and argue with them,or assemble in their Garden.Argue with a Judge,"but your honor is my right to argue with you".

Trump is restoring an element of common sense to a landscape that was polluted  by endless "woke-isum" ,BLM, and ANTIFA ,antics.Furthermore he is doing so with the support of the 77 million Americans who voted for him.Dont like it? Then immigrate to America and vote Democrat in the next election.
