Point me to some of the current lots socialist policies and we can go from there. The overton window has shifted so far over to the right, that any thought of actual socialist policies are a distant memory. The choices we have now are the same as the choices the Americans have. Neoliberal, or neo conservative. Nothing resembling socialism or communism, which is just nuts to mention in the same sentence as starmer .

Fk me that's some ai written tosh.

Starmer and co are the embodiment of communism, you can argue about all current politics being varying degrees of the same side.

But when a government is taxing it's population/businesses to the point of crippling an economy that's not low tax conservative values.

Starmer/biden = high taxes, wasteful government spending and intervention in every aspect your life.

Trump = lower tax, lower government spending and less intervention.

Taxation isn't and never has been a good weather vane for political ideology as it can swing both ways and has historically done so. It predates capitalism, socialism, all th isms in fact and is a product of governance not politics.

Neoconservative.

Not a communist in sight. Not even the whiff of a socialist.

Hard to have a sensible discussion with someone coming out with stuff like this. Marx will be turning in his grave

Taxation was either landowners on tennant, king on subject etc.

Gladstone politics is effectively low tax and low regulation, ie the cost of living in a civilised country without it strangling your freedoms or ability providing it doesn't harm others.

I think Marx was more than happy with Starmers visit to the soviet bloc country during the cold war. And seeing how most of Marx ideals was formulated whilst living in London, kinda apt

If you like the guy then there's nothing anyone can say to make you feel differently. If you do like him the reason is because you've been programmed to, you should know that.
