Back to the bombs though,

- I think this will make Israel bolder in the region knowing it has had recent US support. They are not going for example, to suspend operations in Gaza but will continue to flatten it.

- If Iran retaliates against the US and a larger war starts then Trump can kiss his coveted Nobel Peace Prize nomination goodbye.

 

However I don't think that the Iranian leadership is completely stupid, and are not going to go on the attack to US bases in the middle east yet - they do have time on their hands able to wait for the best moments unlike Trump and most western politicians who only have till the next set of elections to make a positive impact and improve their election chances.

Maybe understand how a depth charge works and you'll understand why they use bombs that get under a target.
