I can imagine it will be powerful , the Germans don't like weak cars.

 

Volkswagen Amarok 2.0, the merc looks nice but its just another Chelsea tractor for accountants, closest it will ever get to 'off-road' is when its parked on the footpath:confused1: would you buy one and stick a tipping back end on it? pointless

Probably the new Merc 1.9 Diesel. Aluminium block though :thumbdown:

 

Maybe the V6 as an option?

 

I have one of these fancy new gen diesels all ali block, 200bhp 2.0 unbelievable engine I have never thrashed a diesel to the redline but this thing seems to love it, although the soft rubber wears out in 15k. 50mpg consistently driven hard (long way off the 75mpg!)

 

My only concern with all this modern highly strung efficient diesels is longevity most of these cars will be dippsable rather than repairable.

 

The only thing I have gone through faster than tyres though is egr valves...
