That is a lovely gate, I'm thinking about trying to make a door in a similar style, do you have any pictures of it being made at all? And what was your cutting list for the timber you used?

Also where did you get the hinges and latch? they look to be made when and high quality.

No pics of the build sorry. Just went to the website that I bought the furniture from but it's gone so I guess they are no more.

If you need some advice on how to make one then give me a shout and I'll takemail youb through the process.

With regards to price, I agree with the postings so far, I never take the piss but I charge for the skill level/timber/time. I'm embarrassed talking money with clients but for bespoke people will pay the right price if the product is a one off. Anyone can buy a gate etc but a one of piece is a statement. Charge accordingly. Look at a solid oak front door on eBay. The price reflects the product. Don't under value yourself. If it was easy they'd do it themselves.

Hi guys thanks for all your comments we all seem to be thinking along the same lines whitch is cool , I was think8ng of useing what I call bone oak , where the weather has stripped all the sap wood from oak branches and left nice hard curvy heart wood , it will be a bit of a time consuming challange but should look cool , will keep you posted , have got my girlfriend to do some sketches so now need to go see the lady that wants it and talk money , wish me luck I hate talking price

Cheers Mark
