How on earth do you get a hydraulic oil fire?. I suppose overworking the machine gets the oil hot but there is not a lot of oxygen other than some in the reservoir to promote a fire. Asking as I have a Jappa 700 circular blade and don't want the same thing to happen.

Perhaps a burst hose dumped oil onto the chain bar, that would do it. If thats the case thats another plus point for a circular blade.

Pretty simple when you think about it, the fire is centred on the bar so bar lube, saw dust and a spark.

Remind me of this when I am looking to replace my JAPA 700 and am tempted by a chainsaw machine !!.

How can a chain bar set fire to hydraulic oil. The chain bar is being lubricated by oil anyway. If someone has forgotten to put the oil on then its operator error.
