She is up and getting ready for her Hyrox competition but it isn't a spectator event apart from the running so I'm not attending. I dont think she wants me there anyhow! Other than that, few small jobs and a roast dinner later. Enjoy your rest day/activity whatever it is! Drummer, Dairy, Camel.

  14. Nice crisp morning. Friday I had a big dead oak over a road, rendered very awkward and dangerous by a telephone line underneath. I was informed the line would be taken down, but it wasn’t, anyway, long story short I walked, to the local councillors annoyance. Got a text yesterday that the line will definitely be down Monday morning ready for us to do the work. Its a good earner, and I didn’t want to lose it, but I’m not dying (or getting an insurance claim) because they couldn’t get thing in place. Happy days!

  18. Good morning 🌅 Got to take the boys to rugby this morning, then back onto the David brown, sounded terrible when i started it it sounded terrible and it was blowing back out of the air filter. Took the rocker cover off and I could see I was missing one pushrod. Further investigation showed two bent on the same cylinder. The cam shaft looks good, will try and take the head off this afternoon to see what has happened as it is clearly the piston and valves have had a little disagreement.
  19. Any hard wood suitable for burning in log burner would be gratefully received.

  22. Morning all. Wind blowing this morning, a warmer, wet and windy week to come. Spent some time at the yard during the christmas break, a chance to catch up with yard chores, the little jobs that accumulate, bit of machine maintenance. One thing achieved was giving the hook loading trailer a good going over including greasing the skip door hinges. Well I had the skip out two days last week and what a pleasure it was opening that massive door! So rewarding to swing it open effortlessly. Looking, I'm sure, like a man of great stature putting such little effort into the weighty task. I only say this because I dreamt of opening that door last night, such is the pleasure it gave. It's the little things in life! Have a good one folks.

I can take any decent wood, ideally hard wood, but a small amount of softwood can also be taken. Only take hardwood chip. Easy to tip, large yard, hard surfaces.
