Nope its too big for me to easily transport. I think the drum unit might be the same as some of the UK available 15hp machines, and being that its belt drive, would be easier to get one of those and swap engine. I'm thinking it would be a worthwhile upgrade for these belt drive machines, stop it stalling when over fed. 25.4mm 1" centrifugal clutch 102mm Double 'A' profile V belt pulley 19hp 2A 1" | eBay UK WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Very heavy duty, double 'A' profile v pulley.

Driving is purely getting there these days, no fun whatsoever. Modern life and all that.

I only experienced it for a few hours on a courtesy car and not only was it very annoying but I got fed up with it dragging me back into a pothole or a car I was trying to avoid. I have been told if you disable it some insurers may not pay out if you have an accident and they find out. This may not be the case but possibly worth checking.

Stupid me | I was the one who posted it yesterday. Must stop drinking. My apologies folks.

Hedge laying cost per metre (South Of England style)

SoE uses two stakes per yard and one binder per stake with two extra at the beginning and end of each run. Achieving a neat finish with SoE is easy with a few simple rules. 1. Place every stake at exactly the same spacing - every 18". To achieve this my holly mallet which I cut from a tree, has a shaft of 18" so when I'm knocking stakes in I use it as a distance guage. 2. Get the stakes in a straight, or regular, line wth no kinks and wiggles. This is harder. It is natural to eye each stake back against the line you've already knocked in. You swear they're perfectly in line but when the job's finished it looks like a dog's hind leg. As well as lining them up with those you've already put in, every four or five yards you need to walk back down the laid hedge and eye the line of stakes forwards against the hedge you've yet to lay. They should be heading for the centre of the unlaid hedge at all times. If they're starting to veer off to one side, you won't spot it and you'll automatically correct the course without thinking about it and so introduce a dog-leg. Walking back down your work every so often and eyeing them up the hedge as well as down helps to stop this happening. 3. Make corrections before you set the binders. Some stakes will be pulled out of line by pleachers under tension and no amount of fighting the pleacher will get the stake to stay where you want it. Wait til you're well past this troublesome stake and the hedge is woven in on either side, and very often you'll find you can pull it out and reposition it without the pleacher springing out. 4. Adjust the stakes when the binders are in place but not dressed down. Few stakes are ever perfectly straight. With the binders holding them steady you can often take out a minor kink just by turning the stake in its hole without pulling it out. If I get a really wayward one that can't be pulled out without springing the hedge, I'll ocasionally snip it off just below the top of the hedge line and put another stake in next to it in the right place. -
It looks capable on straight sticks, some trees are ok with this others you have to trim out every branch before you can feed it. My drum is 500mm wide, and I wouldn't want narrower because of the size Y I can just bend and stick in without cutting. Edit - also the amount of small stuff I can bung in at once without it jamming.

Is it not possible to have it deleted in the ECU with a remap? Along with a telephone directory-sized list of other unecessary gimmicks for deletion while it's plugged in. I bought a Japanese import motorcycle years ago and it had red warning light that came on at 80 kph to tell you to slow down. I deleted this intrusive function with a piece of black insulation tape. Thankfully there was no bong. Not that I'd have heard it...

interesting problem - from the comments on youtube (good old fashioned sticky tape!) On models after 24, this function is always activated after starting the engine. My solution for new cars is British style. I simply taped over the camera installed on the windshield. This did not cause any complaints from the system, plus the system does not read road signs and does not issue distracting messages on the dashboard. Cruise control and adaptive systems using the front radar work perfectly (I checked).

I deon't know if you have a button that turns it off but it usually defaults to on every start up . Its taking away controll from the driver I feel .

yep 100%. even dude at toyota admitted it was a safety feature that wasn’t safe

I remember the name Gimlet . Hi mate .

That sort of thing drives me nuts also . I had a Nissan Duke as a loaner whilst my truck was in for warranty work . It " bong bonged " continiousely . Every time you went past a max speed sign it went " bong " . Every time you exceeded the speed limit by 1 mile an hour it went " bong bonng " . An ivisible hand grabbed the wheel if you neared the white line . I hate it .

Don’t think you can disable them permanently, least I don’t think you can on my Ranger.
-
Yea . Was posted earlier . I thought it was part of the job description .

I originally wanted to stake alternative sides, stake tops leaning in, then bind like a tent ridge to give it a bit more of a three dimensional build. There was no tension on the binding though so it was both useless and unsightly.

Hello. I have a new single cab hilux, great truck but the lane assist is driving me nuts. If I swerve round pot hole or on narrow bit of road it pulls truck back in if I don't indicate. I know I can turn it off every time I start it but does anyone know a way way to turn it off completely or have as an option (great on motorway but not towing 3.5t on Oxfordshire crap roads). Be nice to turn of the beeping every time the speed limit changes too

$3499 sounds reasonable for a 1000cc machine if it doesn't fall apart after a month - are you going to import one? 8 in Wood Chippers MECHMAXX.COM

If you look up North Somerset or Westmorland style I took inspiration from that. Stakes are trimmed to just under the brash. Not a 'pretty' as bound hedge but decent functional hedge Hedgelaying Styles – National Hedgelaying Society WWW.HEDGELAYING.ORG.UK IMG_4490.mov

I've changed my mind a bit. Of the belt drive types there seems to be two sizes, 250mm wide blades and 150mm. The extra width seems to double the weight of the drum assembly but not really gain much advantage, it will act just as a bigger flywheel. Comparing videos of the two, appears they are mostly limited by engine power. So to put the 460cc engine on the smaller machine? This one seems quite capable, nearly stalling with the way he is feeding it. Instuctions say it has a centrifugal clutch which most of these engines dont? Theres also a bigger one, 1L twin 35hp engine, unsure if the drum assembly is bigger or, the same size as the 15hp machines. The 8" rating might be very optimistic but thats near enough the same power as an st6p Forst. This one, cant find many reviews but its a smaller 97kg machine with a 420cc engine. Engine about 30kg. If the wheels and hoppers total about 25kg the drjm unit would be about 40kg and liftable by a single person, so could work for transport by car.
