MS201 on the horizon...

thought I'd share this here as people may be interested, just read it on another forum I don't want to link to as it may be breaking site rules (I've been warned before)

but the MS200T is apparantley being replaced with the MS201T in the middle of this year. These are the specs reported, but they may not be accurate!

For comparison, the 200T is

35.22 cc

2.1 bhp

7.9 lbs

Would of thought that they would have to because of the husky top handle, thats a fair bit lighter though but a fair amount less power

Woops read it wrong there increasing the wieght and adding slightly more power:confused1:

Thats a fair weight increase I can only assume this saw is going to be built around complying with emissions and what not, i dont hold much hope for this being a good saw if thats the case. But id love to be proved wrong

Heard about this a few weeks ago, supposed to be out in august. I hope its not as heavy as this these stats suggest, the new husky looks more appealing so far...

If the saw dose go up in weight i think a few people will go and give the husky a second look Lighter the saw the better

well, if those specs are true, it will be around .75kg heavier than the new husky, but .3hp more powerful. worth that extra oomph??

Is it being replaced with the 201 or are they going to run them alongside? Husky would want to be a ripper to make me give up my 200t. Not the saw the 020 was but still the best by far. Really not liking the extra weight.

Never liked Husky top handled saws. Not just because of the lak of power either. Find the rounded handle harder to grip at odd angles than the square handle of the 200t.

Surely adding weight is the LAST thing to do to a top handle!!!

If those details are right and the husky is as good as it looks like it will be then maybe Stihl has made a big mistake.

Could be the end of the mighty 020!

If these details are correct, sod the husqy and the new 201, Im stocking up on 200t's!

i'm hoping to go the the Doe show in a couple weeks time.....might see if i can get any info from the stihl booth whilst im there
