After a few years of use the internal red oxide coloured coating on jerry cans always seems to lift off and contaminate my premix.

I do use a filter on the jerry cans but minute debris still gets thru and into the combi cans :001_rolleyes:

Has anyone splashed out on stainless or galvanised jerry cans or am i being overly extravagant

Stainless would be fine but you need to know what grade of stainless as there is some shite stuff about that rusts farter than bright mild steel. Galv ones are a no no as the zinc coating dissolves in the fuel clogging carbs and injectors,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sommat ah can comment on, usefully, I find the usual failure mechanism on our jerry cans is the bases bashing/abrading/wearing through, from the usual rough handling on mostly concrete/paved surfaces plus the inevitable "jiggling" about in vehicles.

When out working 8 months of the year on a daily basis.,

But em, use em, check em, crush em, dump em!
